The Meat Locker o'Repose is still 6 Large...not cheap.

still not bad if they actually use it for a friends corpse to get it back to the clerics.

Purify Food and Drink
Transmutation
Level: Clr 0, Drd 0
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: 10 ft.
Target: 1 cu. ft./level of contaminated food and water
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Will negates (object)
Spell Resistance: Yes (object)
This spell makes spoiled, rotten, poisonous, or otherwise contaminated food and water pure and suitable for eating and drinking. This spell does not prevent subsequent natural decay or spoilage. Unholy water and similar food and drink of significance is spoiled by purify food and drink, but the spell has no effect on creatures of any type nor upon magic potions.
Note: Water weighs about 8 pounds per gallon. One cubic foot of water contains roughly 8 gallons and weighs about 60 pounds.

BTW when can this spell affect meat? After death?, After the carcas has been cleaned?, cut into steaks?, cooked? I understand they wanted to make this spell not usable for preserving for resurection, but wouldn't it have been better if they just said "Note this spell does not extend the time a body has to get raised or ressurected" I mean there is nothing wrong [depending on the entity bestowing the spell] with using this to ensure an open casket ceramony for a now deceaced hunk of meat. In fact that would be precisely the use i could see for this. A lizard man druid using the spell to prepare the body of a great chieftain for his final ceramonial feast. :p

This is doubly delicous when the PC's are trying to negotiate peace with a lizard folk kingdom. Peace has finally been reached, but the great lizard king perished near the end of negotiations. The PCs, trying to keep things running smoothly agree to attend the great feast for the fallen king, only to find out the lizard folk never let good meat go to waste. Will the pc's risk the hard won truce by refusing the grim repast and insulting the king and his people, or will they swallow thier pride ,along with a few scales, to keep things in balance?

Some other thoughts:

1) Cattle weigh around 400+ lbs. A box big enough to hold the carcass of one is probably another 100 lbs. Dimensions would be like 9 ft long x 3 ft wide x 4 ft high. Unless it has wheels, or an additional magical effect, it is not likely to be mobile.

2) The Survival skill lets you find fresh food as you travel. You have to slow down to use it, so you don't move as far each day, but you can feed yourself and a few others on a successful check.

ICE BOX
This large glass box has been magically treated treated to preserve any organic material placed in it. on a cursory examination, the box seems to be able to hold up to the equivalent of 4 pounds of organic material. In actuality, this box contains an extra-dimensional space that can store a greater amount of material. It can in fact hold up to 50 lbs of organic material. Once the lid is placed securely on it, the material will never rot age or wilt. In addition, a tiny or smaller creature can be placed in it, however without a supply of air or water it will eventually die, though the corpse will never rot.
CASTER LVL: 9th. prerequisits. craft wondrous item, gentle repose, shrink item, leomund's secret chest. market price: 9000 gp. WGT: 4lbs

1) A cleaned cow would weigh far less, and you could easily stack sliced meat.

2) Survival is bare-bones at best. You are basically taking the route of the animal and scrounging for food. I doubt lions get to eat zebra every single day.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, just that I think the point of the meat preserving was more for RP reasons than anything else; because there is no way you are getting plentiful amounts of fresh meat every day using the skill.
