Prestige Weapons and Armor

I just took a look at Throwing Dices' Two Pager and I have to say that it is also a very interesting way of going about things. They take the ladder approach by having you take at least three feats (first one is imbuing magic for a few rounds, second one is for a longer duration, third is permanent) and looks like it could be all finished by 9th level. However, I get that strange feeling that you are just turning Ragnar the fighter into a hollow version of a wizard without all of the pretty pyrotechnics. This might have to be tinkered with a bit, but it is good reference.

IMC I use a method very similar to Hong's.

Main Differences:
1) It requires a feat per item.
2) XP Cost is GP/10 rather than GP/5.
3) If lost or destroyed, the item can be recreated at a XP cost of 1/100 GP cost.

Three of the PCs have taken this feat in my campaign, each a warrior-type who took it for their main weapon.

Geoff.

The article mentioned by Siridar and clarified be Alchemist sound more like what I'm looking for; where the abilites already come hard-wired into the item and by giving it XP, the item "levels up". However, since I consider myself a novice gamer, I do not get Dragon magazine (although my DM did). If there's a place where I could view this article online, that'd help alot. It sounds a good deal like what I'm looking for.

And keep the info coming; I love it! You guys are great for posting these suggestions; immensely helpful. :-)

Well, if your DM got the issue, why not borrow his to check it out?

Well, right now I'm several thousand miles away from where my DM is, but I'm going to try contacting him and seeing if I can't get a scanned copy of it e-mailed or something...if he has the issue. :-)
