Dungeon 150
This month's Dungeon features three exciting D&D adventures including "Kill Bargle!" a low-level D&D adventure in which the PCs must rescue a cleric from a twisted and cruel wizard, "Quoth the Raven," an Eberron adventure wherein the PCs must secure the aid of an insane criminal mastermind they put behind bars in order to stop an even more twisted murderer, and "Prince of Demons," the final installment in the hugely popular Savage Tide Adventure Path, in which the heroes ally with demon lords, witch queens, and the eladrin court in order to launch an assault on Gaping Maw, the realm of Demogorgon, Prince of Demons. This super-sized issue of Dungeon also features an exhaustive index of the magazine's entire run, from issue #1 to #150, and a special gatefold cover by fan-favorite Wayne Reynolds!

Dragon 359
Now in its 31st year of publication, Dragon magazine is a defining icon of gaming culture. Dragon is the official source of information regarding all aspects of the Dungeons & Dragons hobby! This is the issue that everyone will be talking about for years! At 128 big pages and stuffed to the gills with special features (including a huge poster by Wayne Reynolds), this commemorative issue contains a special Demonomicon of Iggwilv, a huge feature on the Great Mysteries of D&D, a new installment of Core Beliefs, and The Ecology of the Tarrasque - D&D's most deadly monster - by Forgotten Realms creator Ed Greenwood and popular Ecology author Johnathan Richards. Packed with new monsters, exciting rules, hilarious cartoons, and updates on Eberron, the Forgotten Realms, and more, this special oversized issue will be a key part of any Dragon magazine collection. Featuring a cover by Larry Elmore!

I'm very pleased to see an ecology article by Johnathan Richards in the final issue of Dragon. I loved his monster hunter ecology articles and thought it was a pity when Paizo decided to take a different tack with them.

I am surprised that there isn't nostalgia and looking back on the history of the mags though. They almost seem like they are just regular issues. Still a must-buy at any rate though.

I read the preview to Dragon and only one thought went through my mind:

Has to be fake. If not...dear Lord, I'm ordering the hell out of that!

I'm kind of glad they're not spending too much time on nostalgia. While it's sad that these are the last issues, it's only right that they should devote themselves to what they've done best for so long, giving us great gaming material, instead of spending pages looking backwards.

Dragon and Dungeon are top-notch, right to the end.

Awesomeness! My first game product was the Red Box, so I remember Bargle well. It seems fitting that this era ends at much the same point.

This also sounds like a must-have issue.

What a finale, to end it all with the last of the APs. Bravo, bravo...!
