That soulfire chucking Demon is nasty. One almost needs Mass Resist Energy with that thing around. And trolls witharmor and pounce that also detonate when you kill them sound really cool and really cruel.

Yeah, the more I hear about MMV, the better it sounds. That demon is sure ugly, though.

Not really sure why so much was devoted to Saga, which has been out for a month now..

Most of the recent ones have been heavy on products which are on the shelves. Of course, the last few months it was because the columns were pretty late.

Also, they've been giving less & less. I imagine part of that is the new emphasis on adventures, but they all aren;t.

I do think this is the first time we've seen some of the Dungeon Tiles in advance. I do like seeing them and getting a feel for a set.

Well, one, because I asked Mat nicely to if he had some free space. And two because a lot of people have been talking about ways to adapt our Saga Edition rules over to D&D, so we thought some people might want to know more about it. The little tidbit didn't take the place of any other information, consider it "extra stuff" that got included for fun.

And you forget the lot that don't want to see that sort of transition?

Since when did D&D and Star Wars become the same game? What works for Star Wars doesn't necessarily work for D&D. I personally like the fact that characters are all different with their skills, for example. Not every character having the same exact bonus, with only their ability score showing barely little difference. I also think it's silly that only a +5 bonus differentiates between a trained and an untrained skill.

At least with the way D&D is now, you know a 10th-level Fighter is untrained in, say, Climbing (0 ranks), a little good at it (4 ranks), decent at it (8 ranks), or mastered it (13 ranks) for his level, instead of every 10th-level Fighter being just as good at Climbing as the next guy.

That's just one gripe I have about Saga being used for D&D.

I won't continue going into anymore specifics, but, just consider Saga rules to be implemented in, say, an Unearthed Arcana 2 and not a reason to alter 3.5E into 4E ok?

But the way D&D tends to work, for a DC to mean something it's usually challenging for someone focused on the skill. That means it usually only matters if you don't have a skill, or if you are at the top of the line. If someone that is "a little good at it" has it, then the person specialized in it deals with it.

Sorry for the off-topic diversion. Let's take it elsewhere (to another thread) if anyone wants to explore this.
