Since when did D&D and Star Wars become the same game? What works for Star Wars doesn't necessarily work for D&D. I personally like the fact that characters are all different with their skills, for example. Not every character having the same exact bonus, with only their ability score showing barely little difference. I also think it's silly that only a +5 bonus differentiates between a trained and an untrained skill.
At least with the way D&D is now, you know a 10th-level Fighter is untrained in, say, Climbing (0 ranks), a little good at it (4 ranks), decent at it (8 ranks), or mastered it (13 ranks) for his level, instead of every 10th-level Fighter being just as good at Climbing as the next guy.
That's just one gripe I have about Saga being used for D&D.
I won't continue going into anymore specifics, but, just consider Saga rules to be implemented in, say, an Unearthed Arcana 2 and not a reason to alter 3.5E into 4E ok?
Transition? Oh come on! You're complaining about people interested in taking Star Wars RPG rules and modifying them for their home D&D games??!!?? No where on Wizards site have you seen an article saying, "Hey, you should get used to these rules, cause next month it's the new D&D!" Wizards isn't trying to "transition" you to the Saga d20 rules, they're just simply letting you know they're out there!
If Wizards naturally sees a crossover marketing opportunity . . . . *gasp* D&D roleplayers interested in Star Wars roleplaying products *gasp* . . . . they'd be fools not to make sure we all knew about the new products.
No one is shoving Star Wars down your throat Razz. Step back and chill man.
