Price check on Lofty Boots of Steadiness

I would like a price check on a new item. I'm not sure what to price it. It's a request from one of my players and I allow for custom magic items.

Boots that resist falling and give a super grip.

Part 1 would be like the feather falling spell, like if he fell into a pit, or off a clift, etc...

Part 2 would be to resist getting knocked down from trip attemps, the feat "knockdown", etc...

Part 3 would be to help balance checks vs. things like the spell grease, icing, etc...

Maybe called Lofty Boots of Steadiness.

Well, working from the assumption its bonuses are on par with similar items (Gloves of Swimming and Climbing, Ring of Feather Fall), here's what I get. In general I've left off the math used (since in this case it's the Tome & Blood charts), being wary of posting content I can be sued for. ;)

Part 1 is easy; feather fall, use-activated, unlimited charges. Caster level 1, 2000gp.

Part 2, for lack of an easily identifiable mechanic, we'll call a limited save bonus; +4 circumstance bonus to all rolls to avoid being knocked prone, 4000gp.

Part 3 is as easy as part 1; +10 circumstance bonus to Balance, 2000gp. Since both circumstance bonuses come from the same circumstance (wearing the boots), they shouldn't stack. If the surface is unstable, the boots grant +10, if something is attempting to force the wearer over, it's +4.

As for pricing, it depends on how "similar" you consider the powers...I'd say that's a DM discretion. If you'd say all three powers are similar, they're 6500gp; if feather fall is too different for your tastes, they're 9500gp.

Thanks for the response.

Actually, +10 balance is 10,000 gold in 3.5, right? Skill bonus is Bonus squared x 100 gp.

Where did you get the +4 for forcing the wearer over?
