It Depends

It depends on quality and publisher, when I buy .pdf files. For example, I think that the terrible scans of old TSR items available at SVGames is priced right. Those scans are not worth more than the $4.95 Sean selss them for. But, that's not his fault and those are hard copy items scanned into difital format.

Then, you have the very professional, original items from publishers like Malhavoc Press. With their amazing artwork, thoughtful organization and good quality material, I have paid $7 to $10 for Monte Cooks stuff.

I'm another, "it depends upon too many variables to give a flat answer based upon page count" people. I don't buy many pdfs. But whether I am willing to buy or not, and at what price, depends very strongly on the topic and quality of the work.

Obligatory equal time response. Those same terrible scans of old TSR items are also available at RPGNow.

Satisfied customer of both vendors.

It really depends. If the author's established, like Ron Edwards or Clinton R. Nixon, then they'll get my money. Otherwise, I wait to see what the reviews (either here or rpg.net) have to say, and make my judgement based on utility.
