Problem Accessing User Profiles

First Post
My appologies if this question has already been addressed at some point or another ... I couldn't find a reference to it.

However, I have a problem with accessing my characters' profiles (where you're supposed to be able to change passwords, email/other contact info, etc). I cannot actually access it, in order to edit it. I am using Internet Explorer 7, but when I click on the profile for my own character, all that pops up is the profile that someone else would see (i.e. it shows Name, contact info, etc, but not editing options).

Has anyone else had this problem? How did you address it?

There's unfortunately a known issue that for some users the profile option doesn't seem to work, I've tried to work out why this is but for the life of me I can't work out why it works on some systems and not others.

I've been working a new profile system, I'll try to get that up and running as soon as possible. I'm really sorry that it's taken this long but unfortunately the way FlashChat stores profile information is... well at best: Weird.

No, without getting too nerdy, it's got to do with how Flashchat passes information to your computer and how some computers handle it. I just have no idea on the specifics unfortunately.

So out of mild curiosity, dear Mortonia (or others?), how does Firefox handle this better? I'm assuming Firefox is another browser program...

How it handles it better, I have no idea. But I do know that I don't suffer from a lot of the other random irritations that other members have reported on this board since I upgraded to Firefox 2.0

Firefox 1.5 seemed to have a lot of the same problems that IE (especially the incomplete post listing on the main page - where it drops some of the thread titles). But since I downloaded 2.0, I haven't had any issues with the site.

Aside from that, it's a better browser, at least in my opinion. It's less invasive to your system, it has a host of add-ins and plug-in extensions, and it seems to be more stable than IE 7, at least in my experience.
