Also as far as the miss chance i would agree that glitter dust negates it for invisablity.
with arcane site the arguement comes down to what an aura is dose it show the creature? as a DM i would think that an aura would be around the figure however it would be blurry and hard to tell exactly where it is.... that;s how i feel
I think that just ruling that he can pinpoint the square but still gets a miss chance is good enough, Ghost sounds are a decent idea but an invisibility spell has a much stronger aura, and the AS spell does specifically state that you know the strength of the aura... plus if the creature is a spellcaster you'll note what spells it has avaiable, etcetera...
But no, the spell states that both invisibility and ghost will register as a "faint" aura. While it may make sense that an objective observer could tell variations in faint between a cantrip and a second level spell, the Detect Magic (that AS refers back to in this case) doesn't make that distinction. So that's safe. That should give a few more rounds while the AS caster concentrates on one or another (as a standard action) to see if it has any spellcaster levels). Of course, if invisible creature isn't a caster that won't have any effect. Also of course if the invisible creature has any other magic items, there will be multiple aura's, and so it should be easy to determine that it's a greater priority target than the ghost sound cantrips are!
