Problems with the Dragon Knight Epic Spell

Unless you happen to play in the Scarred Lands or in a campaign that allows material from all over. :)

Naw, we actually pretty much stick to the 3.5 core books. Most other splatbooks or settings that offer things like additional PrCs or things like "true rituals" under the guise of adding "flavor" seem mostly like thinly veiled powergaming tactics to me. My opinion is when the designed 3.5 they looked at the feats and PrCs in all the splatbooks that came out after 3.0 release, kept what they wanted and got rid of the rest. I know many will disagree but we like it in our campaign.

True Rituals are powerful ritually cast spells that can do almost the exact thing as Epic spells. However they have a heafy XP, material cost and do require at least 3 other casters. But I think it's fair exchange for being able to do epic spells without all this rigormoral required for epic spells.

Rigormoral required for epic spells? You mean like hefty xp costs, materials costs and requiring other casters expending spell slots and/or xp? :)

Gate doesn't allow a save; why the heck does epic summoning, which should be even better than Gate, allow one?

A writer probably had a brain fart, there.

Good point, in fact only the binding spells have any type of save allowed. Even the monster summoning spells do not allow saves and last for at least 21 rounds at epic levels, more than an epic spell using the summoning seed unless you increase the duration. I was hoping there would be errata on it, there was not.

Well that's your opinion, but I like True rituals and feel epic level spellcasting is just an excuse to be able to get wish and miracle type spells on demand. Personally I prefer to use stuff that I feel will be helpful in a game rather than staying "core rules" only.

No I mean expecting some guy to expend feats to casts spells that basically he could get done as a wish or miracle instead say get a true ritual cast for immortality, turn into lichdom or even summon their own demonic hordes.
