Does this indicate that an optional second magic system for D&D has been written by WotC? One without Vancian casting? One that's been playtested heavily and for which we may see some future official support? Neato. Worth a look, at least.

Very curious about this...

There are other spellcasting systems around in d20, for instance Mongoose has tried several in their Encylopaedia Arcane (Chaos Magic, Star Magic...), so I wonder how this "completely new" system will work like.
