I've been thinking of trying this with my group.
Someone mentioned Dungeon Crawl Classics.
If you use Proficiency Dice, you can easily implement Mighty Deeds of Arms in 5E.
In DCC, Fighters can attempt a Mighty Deed of Arms which is any special maneuver or attack (disarm, force back, trip, etc). If they hit and their attack die comes up 4 or better they succeed at their Mighty Deed.
You can do the same thing by tying to the Proficiency Die roll.
