D&D (2024) Programs or Games to visualize Bastions?

Pretty customizable?
Reasonably so. I’m not much of a modeler so I honestly don’t know how hard it is to do. I know there’s a pretty healthy community that adds lots of goodies.

They’ve now made it possible to do several floors on the same map.

In all fairness, I’ve barely scratched what you can do with this program. But it does appear that bastions would be possible.

Heya. My first 5.5 game is gonna focus around Bastions. The players are going to get burdened with given title of a keep and be thrust into the mobility, with all the privileges and responsibilities that comes with. Over time, a settlement will grow around their keep and they'll get to be the rulers of their own village.

I'm thinking there's gonna be a lot of players interested in Bastions. So I'm surprised there hasn't been talk of "build your bastion with Project Sigil, coming in 202?". So, until that happens, what programs or games are out there that you'd use to visualize your game's bastion/s?

The Sims could work if you ignore the modern aesthetic.
Tiny Glade is great, but only for the exteriors.
Dungeondraft is good, but it's 2D.

What other programs are out there?
There is a Medieval Sims game.

If you're willing to use DOSBox, there's Castles and Castles II. As well as Birthright: The Gorgon's Alliance (it's more of a country sim).

As for Minecraft, the first thing I did in creative mode years ago was build Castle Ravenloft. That was fun.

There's also Medieval Engineers, though it has a steeper learning curve than Minecraft. I suppose you could also use Gmod in a similar fashion.

What role do bastions play in the game? i.e. What benefits does one provide?
It's a Stronghold-lite-ish system with the framework of some events n such.
The benefits can be anything from making common equipment for you, to making magic items, to research, and more.

Have you played Neverwinter Nights 2? The keep you get in that works very like a bastion.
