I predict Ryan Gosling will be nominated for an Academy Award again and lose and then he and Amy Adams will have a drink together and laugh about it. And then maybe they will make a movie together and both win, .

I loved the book and I am very curious how they will do it. Ryan Gosling is a great cast for the role IMO.

I'm going to see it based solely on the tired millennial advertising technique of playing a moody version of a '90s classic song in the background in the hopes that I'll keep watching the trailer so I can hear just how the new version of the song plays out . . . predictable as it may be.

Who knows. Maybe it'll live up to Drive.

The book was fine, but not as good as The Martian. I expect the same to hold true for the movie.

The novel is fun, but more character driven than The Martian. Which is a problem, because Weir is a pretty limited writer in that regard, by his own admission. On the other hand, Gosling is a phenomenal character actor, so I am hopeful that he can elevate the material.
