Granted, there is some controversy as to whether that is an actual Maori word or not, but I still remember it from "Mrs Byrne's Dictionary of Unusual, Obscure, and Preposterous Words".

PS: And yes, it's "mah-na", without a sounded R sound on the first syllable. Think of it as a Bostonian trying to pronounce "marna".

Hey Cam - good to see another kiwi out there (so thats myself, Dirigible, Hypersmurf and you too - anyothers going to share the love?)

and yep I use to do a mean Haka, but as I've aged I find myself pushed into the back rows (were all the best warriors go:D)
