Conaill - as in O'Connell
Not as con-nail
I needed a name with somewhat proto-celtic roots for my first D&D character. Irish names such as "O'Blah" simply mean "son of Blah", where "Blah" can be pretty much any other Irish (first) name. So I picked a particularly unusual form of "O'Connell" (hey - just found out there's a clan O'Conaill website), chopped of the O' and used that as his first name.
Full name is Conaill U'Ciaran (son of Ciaran the blacksmith - Ciaran means "the black").
