Pronunciations?

I was reading the Drow-cow argument and it reminded me of a disagreement my fellow gamers and i had. How do you pronounce Raistlin's last name, Majere. I always said it like Ma-jeer, but others pronounced it may-her-ay, which i think is way off. I never found an official answer. And while i'm at it, how 'bout Fzoul?

Huh... I always pronounced it "Smith." Boy... was I totally off base or what?

Good grief! I've heard of mispronunciations, but that one takes the cake.

His first name isn't Juan, for crying out loud. It's ma-ZHERE, IMHO.

I've always pronounced it

Raistlin mah-JEH-ruh, with a "cut off" to the "je" and "re", accent on the second syllable. I've NEVER heard "mah-zhair" or "mah-ZHEER", but they are equally plausible. Never heard an official version, and if I did, I probably wouldn't change now, anyway.

Fzoul is pronounced in person by Ed G. and Steven S. as "fffZOOL". The f is almost silent.

Too bad Margaret or Tracy don't frequent these boards, or we could get the official for the Majere family name.

Raistlin = RAIST-lin
Majere = MA-jaer
Fzoul = Fi-ZOOL
