Pronunciations?

I was reading the Drow-cow argument and it reminded me of a disagreement my fellow gamers and i had. How do you pronounce Raistlin's last name, Majere. I always said it like Ma-jeer, but others pronounced it may-her-ay, which i think is way off. I never found an official answer. And while i'm at it, how 'bout Fzoul?
1. Rast-A-lin
2. May-Yeah
3. F-zowel

From the Annotated version of the DragonLance Legends series, Jeff Grubb in Appendix D says that it's pronounced mah-JAIR-ee
Damn, bang goes my pronunciation! ;) Count me in as another Ma-ZHEER. I wonder if it's because in my mind I am seeing just a variant on the legal majeure (as in force majeure)?

Yeah, that same entry in by Jeff Grubb says that the world is entirely created, but most likely based off of majesty, which helps explain the pronunciation.

Ahh... so Jeff built a pronunciation from a premise. I wonder if Weiss and Hickman have ever defined how they say it? And if the name does have any particular etymology, as Jeff Grubb suggests, or was one made up because it sounds cool :) ?

I must confess i too considered if it could be may-haer-ay but in my defence i did assume it was May-Jeer after the whole of 45 seconds contemplation (may-haer-ay would be latin.. except latin didnt have a j)

Alas, who knows? It was part of some big article Grubb wrote on the Gods of Krynn, where apparently they were all gods from his homebrew that the DragonLance team 'borrowed' to use for Krynn. A lot of the Krynnish names are based off the names Grubb used, so who knows really.
