Proposed feat: Whip Mastery

WHIP MASTERY [GENERAL]
Prerequisite: Whip Proficiency, BAB +4
Benefit: When using a whip in melee, you do not provoke an attack of opportunity, and are considered to have a threatened area of 5', into which you can make Attacks of Opportunity as usual.
Normal: A character without the Whip Mastery feat provokes an Attack of Opportunity when using a whip, and does not threaten the spaces around him.
Special: A fighter may select Whip Mastery as one of his fighter bonus feats.

How does this feat look?

We have the same feat in our game. We came to it after a debate about weakening the Lasher prestige class. After we all decided it sucked that to be a decent whip user you had to take that stupid class, we basically said screw the Lasher and made it a feat. Good riddance.

There's almost no way to make the whip overpowered, so I can't see any problem with this feet.

Does the existence of the Whip-Dagger (Sword and Fist) make any difference, in your opinion?
