Is there a spell(s) that can be used to prepare for breath weapon beyond the protection from Energy Spells?

Anything that adds to Reflex saves would obviously help after the Protection from Energy is burned through.

A quickened Dimension Door or Dimension Hop to avoid it altogether.

Iron Body is helpful against a lot of typical breath weapon stuff (acid, fire, electricity)

The psionic version of Protection from Energy is more powerful than the arcane & divine version, as it protects from all forms of energy... that way, you don't have to pick a type and worry about the dragon pulling a breath weapon substitution.

I vaguely remember a spell granting you the equivalent of (improved) evasion. Probably in the Spell Compendium... or was it an item? If so, it's in the MIC. Anyway, no matter how you get it, Evasion is very useful to have when dragons are around

You are right it's in SC it's a 5th level Clr or 6th level Wiz spell called Aura of Evasion. 1min/level 10ft burst centered on you. All allies gain evasion if in range but only vs breath weapons. If you already have it you get +4 to save.
