Risen Martyr is the class. They get a Magic Circle Against Evil that surrounds them. It advances to a Protective Aura, and then finally a Holy Aura. So Protective Aura is something different.DarkJester said:Perhaps it means Holy Aura? Seems to fit the class (Defender of Seatiel).
the Jester said:IIRC, it's like the celestial (angel? archon?) ability of the same name... could be wrong, don't have the BoED.

Light to 20 feet - check.
Double-strength Magic Circle against Evil - check.
Lesser Glove of Invulnerability - check.
I postulate that Bastion of Good was originally named Protective Aura (possessed by angels and some eladrin). The spell got renamed (possibly and if so, ironically, to avoid confusion), but the references were not changed.
