[Psi] Power Touch strategy?

What's a good use for this feat*? It's in a smallish feat chain, so I'd think it would have more utility. For PsyWar's it's easy to qualifty for as they have many feats, but they lack many applicable powers (Acid Touch works great, but it's not available until 10th level or after and the cost is hight for a PsyWar). Conversely, Psions haven't as many spare feats but they have a few more powers for which it would be good.

What's a good Power/Feat combo for Power Touch?

Greg

*Power Touch [Psionic]

Prerequisite: Str 13+, Psionic Fist.

Benefit: You can make attacks of opportunity using any power you know with a range of touch, if you have at least one hand free. The Power Touch attack of opportunity does not preclude the normal manifestation of a psionic power during the same round. The power used in conjunction with this feat costs a number of power points equal to its standard cost +2.

Normal: Attacks of opportunity do not involve casting spells or manifesting powers.

Special: Possession of the Quicken Power feat reduces the extra cost of Power Touch to 0 power points (you still must pay the standard cost for the power used in the attack of opportunity).

How about Combat Reflexes, and any of the 1st level touch powers such as hammer touch or dissipating touch?

The vampiric claws feat would be a particularly useful one (*especially* with combat reflexes) for the opportunity for healing yourself at the same time as damaging opponents.

Also pick Reach power from Mind's Eye. It increases your reach by 5ft, so you get more changes for AoO. And Combat Reflexes maybe...

??? If you're referencing the Claws of the Vampire power, then you're incorect. The range of the power is "Personal" not "Touch"

For PsiWars, the only two powers that can really make this feat worthwile are Dissolving Touch and Psychic Vampire .

IMO, the character that would best benefit from the feat is a multi Psi/Psiwar. Taking the war levels for the bonus feats and a couple of levels of Psion for access to the touch powers.

Of course, this character doesn't stay useful for very long, since the touch powers are definitely situated on the low level end of the spectrum.

If your DM is playing with the ITCK scaling variant, and/or you can talk your DM into allowing other touch range powers that deal damage, the character could be a lot of fun.
