[Psi] Psionic Charge question...

peregrine

First Post
Yes yes I know it's silly (then again, it's not terribly out of line considering the relative weirdness of up the walls and such :)...

Psionic Charge dictates the ability to make a # of 90 degree turns equal to your dex modifier. Nowhere does it say anything about actually MOVING during those turns...

Assuming individual in question has either a reach weapon and/or spring attack and at least 16 dex, is it possible to:

Charge straight back 15' or so, spend two of your 'turns' to about--face and charge right back?

Charge back 10', down 5', and back another 10'?

Any other similar variation?

Or is all of this negated by that clause of charge that states you must attack when within threat... which would impede charging 'out' of threat temporairly.

Yes, but if you don't have Spring Attack, you draw an AoO by moving through or out of your opponent's threatened area. Of course, if you have greater reach than they do, you might not draw an AoO. This would let you move faster than just using Spring Attack.

You must attack while they are in your threatened area. In short, you must use this feat with a melee attack action, the same way you use the Spring Attack feat.
