Psicrystal Issues

I am creating a new character-race (well, reworking the Elan race to be precise) and came across some questions as to psicrystals that were not answered by the rules (unless my mind is going). Could someone please help a poor player out?

- I *assume* you can only have one psicrystal. But it isn't written anywhere. Can you have several? Can they have the same personality? Do they stack?
- How much does it cost to create a psicrystal?
- If your psicrystal is destroyed, can you make another? How much does it cost? What does it require? How long does it take? Do you suffer any consequences (a la familiar)?

Really, if they just said "it works like a familiar except as follows", it would have been much simpler.

I'll appreciate any help,

Lets go back to the source, shall we? ;)

SRD:
PSICRYSTAL AFFINITY [PSIONIC]
You have created a psicrystal.
Prerequisites: Manifester level 1st.
Benefit: This feat allows you to gain a psicrystal.

You get a psicrystal, just one. You are not able to take the feat more than once because it doesnt say that you can.

It costs nothing, you simply get one.

The last is under debate, my interpretation is that you can make another once your first is destroyed. After all, you still have the feat, you are still allowed a psicrystal, so if the first is destroyed you simply create another. No cost, time is set by the dm, no further consequences.

Does that help? ;)

I couldn't find where the rules specifically state this, but I'd assume that a character can have only one Psi Crystal (at a time) for the reasons Scion stated above. Also, since the feat Improved Psi Crystal lets you add personalities to your Psi Crystal, I infer from that the intention of the designers was for a character to have only one Psi Crystal which can then be improved, rather than having multiple crystals.

Considering the fact that the Psi Crystal contains a fragment of the character's personality, I see no reason why he or she couldn't create another one if it is destroyed. I'd probably rule that the character would need an appropriate stone (gem or crystal worth 100 gp) and spend 24 hours to attune the crystal and implant his personality into it (bringing it in line with the rules for a wizard/sorceror bonding a familiar).
