Psicrystal Replacement

If a psicrystal that a character has acquire with the Psicrystal Affinity feat is somehow destroyed, how can it be replaced, if it -can- be replaced?

If it is damaged, how can it be repaired?

And if it is damaged but the character levels before it is repaired, how are its 'new' hitpoints calculated?

The problem is that it isn't entirely certain you *can* replace the psicrystal. :)

The feat says, "You gain a psicrystal." It doesn't provide any more information than that on how they are formed / created / hunted down / tamed / whatever.

I think the most common ruling I've seen is that they are treated like Wizards' and Sorcerors' familiars when it comes to being replaced, as well as hit points after being damaged and then the owner leveling up.

It can be repaired just like any other object, with spells like Mending and Make Whole, I'd imagine. Unfortunately, I can't find anything that talks about that specifically - it's more of a quasi-educated guess than a rules reply. :)

Good luck with the Sage!

Don't know about replacement, but if you look up the monster entry for a Psicrystal (Online Here ), you get some critical stats on it - it's a construct, and so can be repaired with the psionic Repair Damage power (Shaper 2) if it has any HP remaining.
