Psionics Advice?

Those are under the description of psionic weapons. I think that mindfeeder was erratta'd though.

Oh, and if you do go with a Psion, remember that the powers (spells) don't scale automatically. So a power that does 3 dice of damage will continue to do that even if you are 18th level, unless you pay more points to augment it.

Yeah, soulknives aren't the most powerful, but the cool factor just cannot be ignored, and their class skill set is sweet! I would suggest you take all the feats that require you to maintain your focus, and then almost always maintain your focus. The alternative is to do that, and take one feat that requires you to expend your focus, and save that for when you really really need it. Your call, of course.

Another follow-up question, just to make sure I understand the class, I don't see any reason for a Soul Knife to actually carry a physical melee weapon, since his Mind Blade is almost always available. Am I missing anything?

The mind blade over comes DR/magic, but not any other kind of Damage Reduction, so having a silver or cold iron or even a bludgeoning weapon might be useful. There may also be times when the soul knife wouldn't want it known that he/she can call the mind blade.

Personally, I think the best soulknife configuration is as a two weapon fighter. Until you can produce two blades, you might use a normal shortsword in your off hand. A flail could be used for tripping, then discarded when its time for the slicing to begin. A bow would be usefull over long distances. There could be lots of situations a little flexibility would help. Do you need to carry another weapon? No. Do you want to... up to you.
