  • Absolutely not. Psionics doesn't belong on the same shelf as D&D.

I am in the 'Maybe' camp. I would probably allow psionics in my upcoming homebrew, but no player is interested and I am not going to introduce psionics or to make it important to my campaign.

In Dark Sun, psionics is another matter, of course!

I don't use psionics in my fantasy games, but I do use them in my SF games and in some horror, supers, and other modern games. I just don't find the labeling/names to work for me in a fantasy game. I know, I could change all that, but it's a pain in the butt and not necessary if I just don't use it in my fantasy worlds.

I allow and encourage psionics, but I've made some fairly large changes to the system, so Core Only dosn't really apply (though for the most part it's the core only power list).

Absolutely allowed. I prefer the system to magic and think much of the flavor fits what I want in a lot of campaigns (pre-human superscience and mesmerism) quite well. (If you add a couple of the 'curse' type effects and the planar binding spells as psionic powers, psionics definitely fits pulp/sword and sorcery magic better than core D&D spellcasting does.)

I allow them, and use them for NPCs & bad guys. They come off as odd and alien, since most of my players aren't particularly interested in Psionics.

I ended up picking Other because there wasn't a 'sometimes' option.

For the occasional PBPs I run, psionics are usually allowed (though not in the current one). For the tabletop games I play in, it's been setting-dependent; in Eberron and Dark Sun, of course (though there haven't been any beyond a Kalashtar Soulknife in the current campaign); in homebrews, it's varied.

The release of psionics for 3rd ed. is what made me start a new D&D campaign. I've been a big fan of the Dark Sun setting, so I naturally picked it up immediately.

The XPH rules integrate seamlessly into the rest of the core material. I guess my only complaint is a slight loss of flavour, since it's really just a different (better!) magic system, now. Especially if you use CP, as well: Divine psionics? yeah, right...

This can't be a true segment of the population... :P

While I'm a huge psi-fan and definitelyy use it, I'm shocked at over 50% saying yes.

Of course, I use psionics - always have some psi-aspect of my character - class, race, or feats...
