[PSIONICS] Soulknife question

Skaros

First Post
A few questions regarding the Soulknife prestige class:

1. Is the mindblade considered a short sword with regards to weapon focus, proficiency, specialization, weapon finesse, etc? Does it change to long sword at 8th, or is that just a change in the damage it does.

Important for a character wanting to really focus on one weapon type.

2. Once you have Free Draw, can you throw as many mind blades per round as you have attacks? Can you apply rapid shot, etc to this?

3. I don't have my books with me (only the SRD to reference)...is Soulknife one of the psionic prestige classes that Bruce Cordell has put out update versions of in supplements like If Thoughts Could Kill? If so, what was the major change?

4. To qualify, you need 8 power points (not including bonus ones)...do power points gained through Inner Strength feats count as bonus points, or base? If base, then I could qualify for this class after only 4 levels of psy-warrior + one of bard (not that this would be terribly great compared to just taking 6 lvls of psy-warrior to get there).

Thanks for your expertise :-)

1. I think you can apply the weapon feats for short sword or later longsword to a mindblade, but you should be able to circumvent this problem by simply choosing the relevant feats for mindblade, i.e. Weapon Focus (mindblade). I suppose, that a soulknife would be automatically proficient with the mindblade.

2. I think so, yes.

3. Yes it is, no idea what changes, tho. Probably dynamic power point progression and such.

4. I guess that base power points are only those obtained from the class levels.
