Depending on how prevalent and powerful the psionics are, what about something like "Mindscape". This could represent the popular belief among many of the people that they understand what they are seeing may not be real. The very gods themselves might be screwing with their heads to show them a reality that doesn't truly exist.

Sounds very Matrix-y when I put it like that.

I love Mindscape. Sadly, IIRC, it's already been done, by Malhavoc Press. :(

That's pretty much exactly what I had in mind. Maybe I can do something similar. Mindjammer? Mindlance? Mindloft? The Known Mind?

:( Mindscape is indeed a great name, though. I thought of it too, then immediately thought it was already done.

I think Mindshadows is too, which I otherwise would quite like.

Although... Soulscape? Spiritscape? Soulshadows?

Almost. I don't like the alliteration so much, but maybe I can think of something along those lines.

I had earlier thought Dreamscape, but wasn't that a cheesy 80s movie?

And there we go. Because the source of all magic is the superconscious, which is created and influenced by the dreams, hopes, fears, emotions and subconscious of all mortals everywhere through all time, it is sometimes called The Shadow. It is a shadowy reflection, distorted and surreal, of the mortal world.

Therefore the name of the setting: Shadowscape.

Thanks to everyone who replied. Even if I didn't end up going with your ideas, it helps to bounce ideas around until I find one that works for me.

We can now return to the discussion about whether or not official campaign titles really are reflective of deep and systemic facets of the setting, or are merely facile and catchy marketing terms that at best superficially resemble some aspect of the setting. :)

Where do you come down on "Mist World"?
