PSP vs NDS

Well, I'm not really into these cutsy japanese-style rpgs, so I guess the PSP is closer to what I would like...

People say the DS has more good games, but if you look at the average scores at Gamerankings or Metacritic, the PSP actually has a larger number of higher rated games.

At which point, people (though not you) then say "Well, the DS has more original games, the PSP just has ports or remakes of old games". It's true the PSP does have those, but the DS also has those in plenty as well. Indeed, a lot of games it has are simply nothing more than enhanced GBA titles, which is (IMHO) a massive waste, because the DS is a lot more powerful than that.

The PSP can be used as a MP3 player, movie player, picture player, additional memory storage device, plays movies and games, and can plug into a TIVO. Mmmmm....much better all around utility device that also happens to have some awesome games. Go PSP.

I'm a recovering Animal Crossing: Wild World addict. I bought a DS Lite on the first day of the US release, and it barely left the cartridge slot of my DS for a good six months or so. Luckily, Mario Kart, New Super Mario Bros., Brain Age and Elite Beat Agents have been able to fill the void. I'm also salivating over Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (what's better than shouting "Objection!" into your handheld video game while on a crowded bus?) and Hotel Dusk for adventure gaming goodness.

The only question I have would be how strong your desire to watch movies is on this device? Only the PSP can do that.

That's not entirely true. The DS can't play movies out of the box, but there are a few different 3rd party GBA video players that should work just fine on a DS.

Movies aside though, the DS (IMO) not only has a better selection of games, but has a better selection of better games.

And while I can't speak to the PSP, the DSLite has *amazing* battery life, mine gets over 10hrs per charge.
