Yeah, but it wouldn't make any sense. The PSP has about as big a screen you can get on a portable device that can fit in a pocket. And it actually compares favorable to a regular sized TV when you factor in where you hold it (at arms length). Angular size in astronomical terms.

I brought a PSP about a month ago and I deeply regret it. The machine is just fantastic but it is very bulky to a portable console. It doesn't fit in my pocket and I found the battery to be a little bit shorter than what I expected. I have no experience with the NDS, but it seems now it would be a better purchase to me, as portability is one of the main factors I am looking for.

Yeah, the PSP doesn't fit into a pants pocket too well, at least not jeans or something with small-ish pockets. Fits pretty well in a coat or jacket interior side pocket, though, but I guess in Brazil, you don't wear those much. The DS definitely gets the edge in portability. As long as you make sure you don't drop your stylus.

The PSP apparently just had a price drop in Europe, too (following the US, although I believe we're still both paying more than those in Japan)

I understand that there are people who believe the PSP is an acceptable video player. I don't happen to be one of them. *shrug*

The biggest problem I have with advising you in light of your requirements is the combination of "strategy/tactical games" and "(preferably non-anime)."

Because strategy/tactical games are the one area where our interests seem to overlap, it's the only one I can comment on. Both systems have a wealth of strategy/tactical games, mostly the latter with a strong RPG element - but almost all of those, with the exception of the forthcoming D&D Tactics for PSP have, to one degree or another, "anime-style" character designs.

If you only care about the anime styling in straight CRPGs and don't mind it in tactics/RPGs, then I'd actually say a PSP may be a better buy: D&D Tactics, Wild ARMs Tactics, Final Fantasy Tactics SE, etc.

With that said, I don't have either system yet and can only go by reviews, screenshots, and general buzz (I only play portable games when a player is released that lets me play them in non-portable form).

D&D Tactics doesn't sound very Anime.

Generally, I'm not super-opposed to Anime, I just don't like it. I can certainly live with Anime-style if it's not too overdone and the game itself is good and fun.

Of course, something like Warcraft, which also has a comic-look is not what I consider Anime-like. That's specifically the japanese, cutsy, smallish, oversized-head/eyes, crazy hairdos, huge weapons stuff.
