Psychoportation to teleportation

Interesting. I'd never thought of it this way before, but I read that 1' requirement as meaning "a single hole at least 1' square". So instead of making incredibly expensive mage prisons, all that's needed is some kind of Dimensional Lock and chicken wire.

That could make for a fascinating defensive spell, too: "Summon Wire Lattice", which surrounds a targeted creature with a sphere of tighly woven wire. Spellcasters then can't target anything outside the sphere, as their Line of Sight has been broken.

I'm not sure I like where this is going.

Wouldn't make a very effective mage prison mind you - the mage in question still has LOE to the chicken wire itself, and all manner of offensive spells at their disposal..

(So if the mage were to cast a Cone of Cold would the cone stop at the chickenwire under the RAW?)
 


I never answered your main question; I think that in most cases, directly converting powers to spells is balanced. This may change in the XPH, as the means of scaling powers is going to change.
