Public Dorkery

Yeah, this, by the way, was the incident that spawned my Hyena-Chucks post over in Rules.

All in all, the reporter was fairly nice. As I told her during the game, sure, we are dorks, but we are dorks in a nation of dorks. The best selling movies for the past five years have all been for dorks. The most money making video game in the land isn't a shooter, or a sports game, it's about swords, spells, and Azeroth. The World's Richest Man is Bill frikkin Gates. That was the point we were trying to make, and hoping to get out there. It's ok for you to be a dork. Everybody else is.

Wow. It's like, not totally derogatory. Actually, it's fairly positive.
Except for the comment about Brennan being scrawny. Poor guy. I bet Cristina Silva wouldn't want to be called a 'fat reporter' in a news article :p Or maybe he just really annoyed Cristina...gamers can get really annoying :p

That's probably the most accurate depiction of what D&D actually is that I've ever seen in the press. I mean, seriously, talking smack and rolling dice, that's D&D in a nutshell.

Props to the columnist, or reporter, or whatever. They did an excellent job at giving good press to the hobby.

That right there is a pin-up. Not, not a scantily clad woman on paper. It is a "cut me out of the newspaper and pin my up on the wall" type of an article.

Props to the gamers for being normal with a reporter around, too.
