Pulp Arcana is a D&D 5e-compatible comic-book-action-fantasy game. It’s the graphic novel splash page of fantasy tactics games. Was that feeling the shock of lightning up your spellsword’s blade, or did you just have an average turn in Pulp Arcana?
This is a transformation of 5e’s player-facing rules, such as classes, magic, and weapon combat filled with flavor-rich, superpower-inspired new classes and mechanics. If you want to run Tomb of Annihilation or Rime of the Frostmaiden, then fantastic! There’s no need to box up your big, expensive library of 5e content.
We believe that multifaceted game mechanics should not come at the cost of flavor, style, or story. Our rules aren’t crunchy; they’re pulpy. The Special Attack system grants martial characters a set of custom Attack actions. An act-based spellcasting system simplifies spells into their core functions that evolve with 9 levels of different effects.
Pulp Arcana allows for an enormous breadth of character expression. The base game includes 14 classes, 56 subclasses, 39 spells with 9 levels of effect, and 60+ craftable items. You have the pieces to build the fantasy-sci-fi-horror-action-hero of your dreams.
