Hey all,
I am planning to run a d20 Urban Arcana campaign where there are only two PC's. I know that, "traditionally", campaign material as is calls for a party of four. I like the idea that there will only be two, but I also like the idea of not simply attaching two NPC's to round them off. Rather, I'd like to set up something Shadowrun-esque and have them try and research/advertise/bargain for outside help on a per mission basis. Here's the question: How would one assign a Purchase DC for services rendered?
Obviously, the level of the character would have to be considered, if the Merc in question is an Ordinary or a Heroic character, account for anything special about his gear, or heritage, or abilities... I suspect the CR of the Merc should come into play in figuring out this number. Any ideas?
