Retail/Online I'd like to talk about a couple of gaming shops in my area that don't necessarily fit the profile. Online shopping is great, it's cheaper, I know for a fact that you can save several bucks per book buying online. What you really miss out on is connecting with the locals. I'm not sure what policy is on naming names, but here are two of the shops in my area that I'd gladly give some of my hard-earned legal tender. I like my local games shop "Rainy-Day Games" Beaverton, Oregon. The owner always comes out from behind the counter to greet customers. He's Johnny on the spot when you have questions. He's got several acolytes running around pricing things and making sure that the pay-for-play computer network is up and running. I train customer service skills for a living, and everytime I've been in there I've been impressed. I used to go to Bridgetown Hobbies in Portland, but that's a good 20 miles away from me, they're great for customer service too. They're run by an older couple. One side of the shop is modeling and hobbies, very comprehensive if you're into that sort of thing. (personally I'm not, I had a bad experience with super-glue at a young age) The other side is typical gaming stuff. (Too much Warhammer for my taste, but I've always hated that game with a passion bordering on mania) Very friendly.
