Put a stake in it: Gellar leaving 'Buffy'

I had thought this was a foregone conclusion before the start of the season. How else could they plan out the episodes without knowing whether or not the Title Star was going to be under contract?
Actually, there have been talks about it, but no one have made a definite decision, or an official one for that matter, until now.

AICN.com just reported that Gellar gives a tearful goodbye interview in the latest Entertainment Weekly.

I wonder how the shooting schedule for Scooby Doo, Too: The Search for Snacks is going...? :p

So, anyone care to guess how it will all end?

I'm willing to bet Buffy will survive...if only because killing her might put a crimp in any future film or reunion. Though i doubt Joss would anyway, seeing as he's killed her already.

I got it off of MSN's news site. Personally I'd rather they killed off Buffy. Sure it's lost some uhmph but if she dies and STAYS dead, it works for me. Thus Faith stays slayerfic. (Which is kind of the show I'd like to see. Renagade Slayer and Watcher running from both the law AND undead, tracking an immortal killer. But that's just me.)

Since we're not getting a show starring Faith, I don't think killing Buffy will work again. It would cheapen any victory she and the gang would have over the Big Bad. When shows/books/movies end I like to think that there would be other adventures they are having and they live on in the mind. Killing her is too finite. At least Joss should have something to use if he has another slayer series. Even if it takes a few years to get on the air...

I could just scream. At least she could be in something I would consider watching. I wouldn't mind a few BtVS flicks with the whole current gang. Give Joss a big-ass budget to work with, sign a 3 movie deal with the actors and let him go ballistic.

...but please, no Slayers in Space. :D

I think Buffy will live, and the Sunnydale Hellmouth will end up being permanently closed. Buffy will then go to another bad place, or try to live a normal life. But I suck at predicting these things. :)
