Put a stake in it: Gellar leaving 'Buffy'

I also predict Buffy will live. While the Slayer has always been doomed to die and with that death the birth of a new Slayer, Buffy, has always been depicted as different, a little outside of the normal boundaries. I think since they have already officially passed the Slayer line into Faith, there is no reason to kill her.

OK. OK. But I notice you've made time to bring that comic to our attention, which means you've read it there, and posted here... ;)

What are you saying? That my priorities are out of whack? :D

For once, I like a show that ends with the bad guy winning. :p

You could go watch reruns of Blake's 7. :D

Shows tend to run 7 years because SAG and studio worker contracts tend to run 7 years, and after that, everyone on the show, from gaffer to star, renegotiates, usually cutting the show's profit margin dramatically. It's only a show like E.R. or Friends, where they can afford to offer them buckets of money because the show MAKES buckets of money, that they tend to go over 7 seasons, these days.

I don't know if Friends is still that successful (I know it's one of NBC's big guns, for sure). I think the extra season has more to do with circumstances. We've seen the super-successful Cheers and Seinfeld go off the air in recent years, and most of the actors couldn't keep a sitcom afterwards, despite their high popularity. Ted Danson and Kelsey Grammer were the only two from Cheers to survive on TV (and of course, Woody Harrelson in the movies). None of the Seinfeld cast are currently doing regular TV (as far as I know).

And it looks like none of the Friends cast has a particularly promising movie career ahead. Their success in the theatre so far has been pretty mild. So they're pretty smart to stick with Friends, given its recent upsurge in popularity.

If I was Joss I think I would leave Buffy in the air so you could address things in a few years either as a movie or a reuion show, Buffy the HighSchool Reunion 5, 10, & 25 years. :)

ALSO....

Kill Zander making him a vamp...Willow gives him his soul allowing him to be a super-hero and date! Willow become head of Sunnydale High, where she teaches deamons and humans to work together. Dawn meets Angels son, falling in love and fighting deamons. Andrew, cult leader/video journist into the strange and unknown, creator of the hit TV show, who wants to marry Xander Vampire Millionaire! :) :D
