Pyramid of Shadows Excerpts

I think H3 looks pretty cool. I love the head artifact. I've been stealing ideas from the Myth computer game series (mainly via the Myth GURPS book) and the whole disembodied head thing is great!

Also, the adventure sounds intriguing and exotic and quite different to what my group usually does, so I think it'll be a lot of fun. Sounds like it's not just going to be a "kill all the monsters to win" kind of adventure, either.

not liking one of the encounters...
[sblock]The entrance pit feels too 'screwjob' and 'No room to move'. While the characters should be able to handle it, they are going to start out in a 20' wide pit with half of it filled with 2 carrion crawlers. Second round of the fight zombies steal whatever open squares are left assuming a 5 person PC party. All while a pushy, double acting ettin is using the party to play a game of whack a molefrom above.

I think making the pit more spacious should help a little. Maybe have some sections of the pit walls be breakable to dump the ettin into the body pit.

Nice, how do you print these?

When I print them 'original size' in Infranview they look a little big. I'm using A4. I'm going to print out on card stock when I get home for H2.

Could you do me up some skaven (rat men from Warhammer)?I've replaced all kobolds in my adventure with them. I've looked around the net but could not find a good sprite.

Hope the request is not cheaky. Thanks

Free bonus material from FranktheDM in the thread!

The adventure sounds a lot like the kind of stuff TSR was putting out in the late 1e era a la Desert of Desolation, Ravenloft, and the UK series.

Hope this one lives up to the promise, and becomes an instant classic!

I get the feeling they looked back at the older, more popular adventures, and realized how important it was to have exciting, distinctive, locations...

Which seems obvious as I write it...but still seems to be a major element of what they have been trying to do.

They should be exactly 1" per square [96x96 pixels]. Set your printer margins as low as possible. Most counter sheets I make require margins no larger than L&R 0.75" T&B 0.5".

I gleefully accept requests, though skaven may be hard to come by since pixel based games with bipedal rats seem uncommon as you have noticed. The'll be posted in this thread when I get them done http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?t=225315 .
