Not only that, but healing outside of combat is easily available though wands of CLW at a modest cost. Augment Healing is good if you consider healing during combat to be absolutely essential.
The bottom line is that Augment Healing is pretty attractive for the party, but it is darn boring from the POV of the player playing the cleric PC. From the DM's POV PCs taking boring feats like this makes his job easier -- being on the mechanically powerful side is not a bad thing at all.
