Question about Castle Waterdeep

I'm just beginning to delve into the history, lore, and geography of Waterdeep. I have a quick question (and likely more to follow up with later). Who lives in Castle Waterdeep? I know (or think) the open lord of Waterdeep lives in the palace. And the guard uses the exterior part of the castle as a sort of training grounds. But what is kept inside the castle? Offices and barracks of the guard? Since there is no king or ruler outside of the masked lords of Waterdeep, I'm not sure who would live in the castle.

I can't recall, but there are several 2E or 3E products out that contain details of the Castle, the Palace, and the City of Waterdeep.

Thanks for the resources. I already have Waterdeep and the North, and Volo's guide to Waterdeep. But as far as I can tell, they don't really explain precisely who might live in Castle Waterdeep or what it's used for outside of a training ground for the guard (in the outside area of the castle).
