question about familiars

In our game this last friday the mage lost his familiar, this as we know means that he loses some xp. Tome and blood states that you can have your familiar raised. Does he have to wait a year and a day as per summoning a new familiar?

I'd say no to that, but it is by no means clear.

I'd say no. Why should he? The familiar's soul is not on vacation or something. The year-and-a-day is for getting another familiar to replace the old, which you don't do.

Very much agreed. We had this same situation come up a few weeks back and I allowed him to res.

Yea, he's paying enough for it, especially with the new prices.
