Question about French version of PHB

I was in a game store in Quebec this Week (Le Griffon in Sherbrooke to be specific) and I was looking at the French versions of several D&D products. I noticed that the front cover of the Player's Handbook was labeled "édition révisée". Since I'd be awfully surprised if WotC was to release 3.5 in French before English, what gives? Has it been labeled "édition révisée" since 3e was first released in French?

And to get further off topic, I noticed on my way back into the States, I was looking at the bilingual signs welcoming me back into Les Etats-Unis (the United States) and it occured to me that with the European Union, the abbreviation E.U. might be a little confusing to French speakers these days.

Can anyone fill me in? Horacio? Game Control? anyone?

Pure speculation, but:

Maybe the "revised edition" on the cover means that it's the second printing, the one with some errata included?

As for E.U., I think the Spanish (or just Mexican??) abbreviation for the United States (Estados Unidos) is "EE. UU." This is just a semi-recalled memory though.

I haven't read any French newspapers in a long time but I do not think E.U. in French is actually E.U. For instance I know that that the Soviet Union was l'Union Sovietique (forgive me for not using all the ascii accents but I am lazy). In fact in French the USSR as we say in English was actually abbreviated URSS for Union des Republiques Socialistes Sovietiques. So, European union is probably Union d'Europe or something along those lines.

As for the French revised version I figure that is the second printing. I cannot imagine they'd get it out in a non-native language to most of the writers before they got it out in their native tongue, unless this is some French playtest experiment... now that's an interesting conspiracy theory, and another reason for people to make fun of the Quebecois (I do not support this action, just making a general statement here. :) )
