Question about Phantom Steed

This game up in our game today, wanted to check on a ruling.

Phatom steed creates a horselike creature. Questions:

1) Is it immune to fatiuge, aka can it run for the whole duration?

2) Does it have the run feat, just like a horse does.

Not sure how much the rules back it, but a rules search that left us in a relatively high state of vigor led us to believe that it operates as a horse for most mechanical purposes, including the ones you mention. It is not generally subject mind effects and moves as the rider wishes. We like to keep it simple. :D

The only statistics of the mount are those given in the spell's description. It states nothing of ability scores, HD, feats or skills. Therefore, I would assert that it is, indeed, immune to fatigue (as well as many other effects), as it is not a real creature and does not possess any capacity to even make constitution checks.

Despite the specific usage of "creature", I would say it is a spell effect for most purposes. It has no feats and it is not immune to fatigue as much fatigue is not applicable. The designation of "creature" allows it to take move actions and even run, but "only" at x4 speed. Thus a 5th level caster's steed has a 100 ft speed and can move 100 ft with a move action, 200 feet with two move actions, or run 400 ft.

Another question, since the text says nothing about saves, does the horse ever have to make saves?

It has hitpoints, but if it gets hit by a fireball, does it auto pass, auto fail?

Assuming how few hp the horse has... and since it does not have evasion... nearly any fireball will kill it instantly.

We always used the horses as a kind of slow teleport option at higher levels... no fatigue, full speed for the full duration :D
