Question about Voting on Ennies.

I consider myself to be someone who buys an awfull lot of various d20 stuff but I definately don't have everything that
is on the list of nominations.

It comes down to the fact that I don't feel comfortable about voting for a product if I haven't given all of them a fair read and chance. I feel I'm voting for the better marketing scheme rather than the product if I don't look at all of the nominations. I have four of the five compaign settings, the only one I'm missing is "The Hunt: Rise of Evil Worldbook".

Some things it will be easy to deal with...cover art (walk into your local gaming store and look), free products...I just might buy that last product on the campaign settings ("The Hunt: Rise of Evil Worldbook").

So are people going to vote only for the things they bought? If you haven't taken a look a product, how will you decide to vote?

How many of these products do you actually have?

I've been looking at the list and having the same thoughts. I've got around 15 of the different products, and can of course download the free stuff and visit the websites.

I just picked up The Hall of the Rainbow Mage based on it being on the list for adventures, but a fair number of the products I just haven't seen anywhere that I can recall. I too don't know about voting in the catagories that I don't have all of the products (or have not seen/read), but I doubt that most of the people who will be voting will have all of them either.

I think what I'll do is read through all of the stuff I have, then either browse the stuff I don't (like you said, look at the covers for best art, etc.) at the local game store. I really think that you can't do anything else, or there won't be many votes.

With any luck, this will at least give lots of exposure to some of the games and suppliments that people haven't been able to find (get your local game store to order them?) or have looked at but weren't sure about. I'll probably pick up Seven Strongholds and/or Bluffside sometime in the next few weeks, depending on how the money situation is. Either that or wait until the judges start giving stuff away.
