Question for Kenzer

Why does the Villian Design Handbook contain 9th lvl Paladin and Bard spells? I flipped through it at my local store and noticed this. Unless there was a good reason hidden in the text, this seemed like such a glaring error and possible sign of poor editing that I didn't buy the book as I originally intended to. Anyone?

Way hey Grim. does it have ranger ones as well.

Anyway, if the epic level handbook says that despite getting more powerfull, you dont gain more spells as a Paladin and a Bard then i may have to reconsider investing in one.

If what i consider to be a spell casting class dosn't get more spell as you go up in levels, it is a bit dodgy.

No class gains spells after 20th-caster level unless you take a feat or two (from the ELH) that grants you higher than 9th-level spell slots.

Ok, so it *is* possible to cast those 9th lvl Paladin spells, etc., but such a character would have to spend 5 epic feats on Improved Spell Capacity. (And the 9th lvl spells weren't so hot.) Something tells me that wasn't a design decision.

Bear in mind that Kalamar is published under a special license from WotC and can use D&D (not just d20) material. It could be a glitch, but it could also be that the Villain Design Handbook actually contains epic-level material.

Just a thought.
