Question for players of Mage the Awakening: I wanna be ignored.

First Post
I had played Mage when it first came out, and I recall an ability or power that allowed the character to be ignored. The higher the rating, the more he would be ignored by the "normal" world. At high levels, cameras would not take his picture, etc...

I'm thinking of adopting an ability similar to this for my D&D game, anyone know where I can get some details on this without having to buy the book? Thanks guys!

I vaguely remember this. It was called shadow or something and you could get up to like five dots in it that took away from people trying to get info on you such as through divination type magics or public record searches. At low levels it made you less noticeable, then more forgettable and then almost entirely off the grid even when being blatant.

My order of hermes psychiatrist cover mage had it but this was back in the first edition of mage as well when I last played it.

The rule you're thinking of is Arcane; it was one of the backgrounds you could choose (along with Contacts, Influence, etc).

Cheers,
Cam
