Question on Adjusting custom classes

First Post
So as the title says I am in the works of making a custom class, that I want to submit to my DM for approval. I feel that the class may be too powerful so I wanted to add some equalization to it. The thing is I am looking for something other then Level Adjustments to equalize it.

It is a base class, so I am trying to keep it as fair as possible. I just want other ways to make it leveled instead of using level adjustment, since we are doing a lv 15 campaign in the future. This affects the class because it needs money to do what it does best; hide in the shadows and use magically controlled puppets (specialized constructs) as their weapons. Thus to create these "puppets" they need the money to customize and become formidable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First, Level Adjustment is for races, not classes. But since you didn't want to use that anyway, it's a bit of a non-point.

Second, to let us help you with balancing out your class, you might want to post what you have now. Otherwise, we can't really see what it can do, or what it would need to balance it.

Third, balancing a class with money/crafting time is difficult. I've played an Artificer (a class focussed on crafting) and didn't get the time to craft, and when I did get the time, didn't have the money to pay for the raw materials. You may start resenting your DM for this, while he thinks it's necessary to avoid overpowering your class.

Fourth, there is a seperate houserule forum. Although you might find help here, you may find more help there.

The first line helped the decision. Second, I didn't want to put such a huge amount of paragraphs up. Three, I agree, I will have to see what the DM wants to do about it. Four, will do in future endeavors.
