Questionable Reviewer Reviews

I can do a quick overview of the 5 classes, but I wasn't sure that that would be at all productive -- they're in the product description in some detail. Also, I think one is previewed in full at RPGNow.

Anything else you want me to add?

Three is average. Most products probably should fall in this category, although they don't. But a ranking deserves an explanation. You don't have anything negative to say about the product (aside from your idea of using the crunch elements for something I'm assuming they weren't meant for), only positives, notably that the meat of the product, the 5 clasess are "well-thought", "diverse" and "appear balanced". I like to see reviews that craft a ranking based on the reviewers likes and dislikes, even if their taste is different from mine. If I read this review and had to guess what you would have ranked it, I would have said a four.

I guess I'd also agree with the others who would like more detail on the 5 classes that are featured. If I had only your review to go on in making a purchase decision, I would have no reason why I would want, or idea how I could use this product. For instance, if I knew that one of the options was a class that would help me build the Ninja/Pirate/Dinorider the munchkin in me has always dreamed of, that might make me interested. Don't assume that any reader that might get linked to this review will know to click to the description page:

Providing a link to a publisher description is just fine IMO though...

I don't see the relevance of your review of Book of the Righteous. That book was getting unanimous 5 star reviews until you said, in effect, that the Emperor had no clothes. Thus the firestorm.

But Unorthodox Fighters is getting lots of 3 star reviews. I doubt that there will be the slightest controversy raised by your rather bland review.
