Questions about half-dragon template

[edit: hong I added your page to my DnD favorites. Ditto for Bhudda DM ... okay end suck-up mode]

Why stop? I was enjoying it! :D

[edit2: I looove that 1/2 dragon page, my only critique would be for the OA dragons ... they're spirit types as well, and I remember asking about 1/2 OA dragons and someone mentioned that those would be just spirit folk ...]

ej

I'll take a look at that and see if it can be worked into the template for them.

spirit folk, I think, are already 1/2 spirit creatures ...

not that I don't like or wouldn't use the OA 1/2 dragon templates mind you :)

Ok the Spirit Subtype for the OA Half-Dragons really doesn't fit as they aren't true dragons.

BTW, Who is the genius, and who is insane out of Hong & I?

Pardon me for interrupting :-)

I was readin through the monster manual today, and I notice that for all of the templates that provide a hit die increase (to D12 for example), they always apply the hit die increase to the class levels as well.

This is also true in the templates for Monsters of Faerun.

I think that's good news for half-dragon wanna-bes.

So our human fighter example above would gain an extra hit point or two, I guess.

Yep. I don't why the Half-Dragon hit die increase shouldn't affect the first class that a character takes. Only class one is affected and not any other. No classes are affected if you have Monster Hit Dice. If you do have monster hit dice those are affected instead of the class hit dice.

BTW, for those of you that are interested I have added 5 new half-dragon types to my alt.Half-Dragon Template. The new types are Howling, Pyroclastic, Rust, Styx, and Tarterian.
